
Powerful Post-Meal Ritual
Ayurveda had a surprisingly simple post meal ritual.
Walk 100 steps.
Not power walking.
Not cardio.
Just enough movement to wake up digestion and keep energy from crashing.
Modern science has been nodding along.
In a Diabetes Care study, short bouts of post meal walking improved 24 hour glycemic control and were especially effective for the post dinner glucose spike. (Diabetes Journals)
And newer research suggests even a brief 10 minute walk right after eating can lower peak glucose compared with sitting still. (Nature)
So here is the tiny ritual.
The 100 Steps Plus Ritual:
Step 1
After your biggest meal, take a gentle 10 minute walk.
Step 2
If 10 minutes feels like a lot, start with 100 steps.
Step 3
Do it most consistently after dinner.
Where to do it?
Ideally in nature. But...
Around the block.
In the hallway.
In the parking lot.
Even laps in your living room count.
Sometimes the most powerful supplement is a short walk that helps your body handle the meal with grace.
